A magical vase from the 13th century Song Dynasty is the catalyst for musical prowess through generations of a family. The vase "sings" with each new owner. This book was a very ambitious undertaking that spanned centuries of history, cultures and locations. I consider myself fortunate that I was able to reap the benefits of the author’s efforts. I enjoyed the interconnected tales of love, romance, history and destiny. The rich historical and cultural details, along with music as the central theme, are both something that I’ve come to expect from the author and I was richly rewarded with this endeavor. Music truly is the universal language.
Normally, I cringe and think "Noooo!" when I see that an audiobook is being narrated by the author. Ms. Kahn is a rare exception. Not only is her writing beautiful but I have found her to be a very capable narrator as well. Peace of Music was a great listening experience and I would recommend it.
