It’s been a long time since I’ve read a non-supernatural story, and I tend to skip over the blurbs so I had no idea. But then I was like, ah well, already spent to credit.

Narrators were eh at first. But as time went on, especially when I found out they had range, just not MC character range, I could get more into their voices. Not sure which is which but I’m guessing Joel is the deeper voiced guy by the other reviews. Super sexy, even if Bill, Riordan, Christopher, and Black sounded alike, but they felt different. Phillip was pretty much the same except for Quill because GOTTDAMN he put his foot into him.

Plotwise? Haha, like I said, I’m not used to realistic stories and it was exciting, every minute, even if Quill and Black ended kind of abruptly. But it was satisfying that Black’s reach actually meant something. I was sure some last minute bamboozle would shake things up! You’ll find more nuanced takes with other readers
I’m sure.

Now, I don’t read things without sex. I’m just not here for that except for in my danmei at the moment, so I’m glad things got adequately spicy, but I wanted sooo much more spice with Black and Quill. But I was smothered, in a good way, with Bill and Mace.

Despite Quill being prolly in my top 5 favorite characters ever, my favorite couple was Bill and Mace. Just delicious friction and tension and they felt more on equal footing. It made my heart hurt knowing the big bad boys weren’t worth love! Def worth the credit!
