I really enjoyed Mags and Laurie’s story. When this came out in audio, by a favorite narrator, I knew this was a must-listen. I really fell for this story in audio, because the emotions of Mags and Laurie really shone through with Joel Leslie’s narration. His accents for both Mags and Laurie was in point, and he did a wonderful job with the supporting characters as well. He drew me into the story, and made me feel all the emotions that didn’t quite hit me the same way when I read it initially. Joel did an amazing job with the banter between them! It was so witty and I found myself laughing often! Like opening dialogue laughing out loud! I loved the (somewhat) unlikely friendship they developed. Mags was wonderfully grumpy and Laurie was wonderfully optimistic. The two of them together balanced each other out to two mature men who develop a beautiful friendship. I enjoyed seeing the sights of London through their eyes in their travels of crossing items off Laurie’s must see/do list. The chemistry that built between them was hot and seeing it bloom into more was lovely. This was a fantastic read of two mature men finding each other when their paths were meant to cross (and in the most hilarious of ways)!
