It’s frustrating that Calder is as weak as he is. It just doesn’t seem realistic. I also find myself wanting to speed through the flashbacks. I feel like nothing new Is presented in the flashbacks after like book one. I mean there is new stuff but it’s all stuff the audience could infer. Also the fact that there are so many flashbacks and the books are written almost as halves to each other it feels like they are just filled with a bunch of unnecessary info that further reinforces how weak and naive Caldor is. All in all I’m just waiting to see how the three series tie together. When I feel like this with a book a part of me feels like maybe this is great because even with all my frustrations I’ve still stuck around to the end. Maybe this is just all flaw in my intent.
