1) To expand my imaginative universe
2) To relax, unwind and let go of my day-to-day cares
3) To escape into a DIFFERENT reality

Therefore, I don’t want to be lectured about the social issues facing me in this reality. It not only defeats my purpose for reading fiction, it frankly degrades the writing into a thinly veiled manifesto.
The likelihood that I will buy more work from the author plummets. It’s a very risky creative move. Judgemental? Hardly! I’ve lived my Dr. Frank-N-Furter life; Thirsty derails this story badly for me. Fiction sucks as a venue for social commentary precisely because it’s not reality just as a motorcycle sucks for moving bags of concrete: WRONG VEHICLE!
