I went into this book hoping for a good super human story. Unfortunately, the author writes female characters through a lens of hypersexuality and focuses too much on their bodies. It felt needlessly sexual and objectified the females at every turn. Admittedly, I didn’t get all the way through the book, but after getting several chapters in, I no longer held out hope that the writing style would take a turn into appropriate-land. I found myself feeling disgusted that I was still listening and had to just stop all together. I think there’s probably a good story in there and some cool superhuman stuff, but it was buried beneath too much hypersexuality. No thanks. It was more graphic than game of thrones!
