I know you would have to have been living under a rock not to know about Steven Avery. But this book jumps…maybe leaps is a better word, right into it. I listen to a lot of true crime and I must say this one made a lot of assumptions that the reader knew who everyone was, said and did. There wasn’t a strong set up. I was almost turned off by the bias. Which I share, but would have liked it better if it wasn’t so slanted so I could think critically about what I was hearing. There were things I did not know and that was great. Then it became repetitive after awhile. And everyone was all good or all bad.
The saving grace was Kevin Pierce who made the story palatable. He is a true treasure. The story was pretty much all over the place. I wanted to give it two stars, but Pierce can level up anything he reads.
