I received this audio book in exchange for an honest review.
I have followed in this entire series from the beginning. Over the course of following the halflings and their mates I have come to realize that Sarah J. Stone’s transitions are not well done. There were moments within the story where I felt as though she jumps from one instance to another and I have no clue on what happened. I don’t remember specifically another book where this has occurred but I did wonder how we got to one scene to another without a clear transition.
I enjoyed Dallas and Blane’s love affair. It was super brief and there was not a lot of scenes focused on them. The story focused more on the battle that is upcoming. We got to meet wolves and witches and also the nymphs got some story time as well. I understand that this is a short quick read however I would like to have more time with the couple rather than everyone else. It seems as though everyone who were introduced in previous books had scenes within this book as well.
I don’t know if the upcoming books, Jaz, Adrian, and Dixon will have the same issues that the previous books have when it comes to transitions and a lack of couple building. Here is not hoping not because the war seems to be heating up and I don’t want to have book whiplash when it comes to these books.
