The action is still high and most of the storyline is on the same level as the first but adding the love interest was like an afterthought. I knew it wouldn’t stay a boys only club forever, however there was nothing for her to do except be in the way. if she was a more likable character I’d care if she lived or died, but I didn’t! I would’ve liked the author to consult a romance novel or two before trying this again. I’m so glad it was more going on. I real liked how layered this author writes in this series. The story has depth, which is why the love interest was such a bore. That being said I enjoyed this book not just because it leads to the next one. it gave some closure for those of us who needed it and we didn’t even realize we needed it.
