Where’s the EMP?

This is not post-apocalyptic, not an EMP story, not a survival story. The elements that suggest that are merely a backdrop or side-story at best. The story is fine, but really goes off the rails, and goes nowhere. It’s nore of a crime noir with a dusting of AI singularity.

The naration is wildly overrated. I can’t buy into a clearly 60+ year old man from the South narrating a Chicago 40 year old character. His use of any slang is comically cringey. He also has no ability to narrate for female characters. Every accent sounds the same. Pleasant voice, great diction, but not a fit for the characters or story.
