This will not be one of my favorite writings. That being said though I am not unhappy to have read it but glad to have finished it. The story starts off slow but for this particular story it is a good thing because it needs the world building. The characters are great & watching them develop is probably the best part of the story. This book fails for me in the area of Grand Schemes. For a world created with so much intrigue , it is lacking in scheming, backstabbing, and doesn’t obtain its full potential. It also suffers from a tad bit of obviousness in its outcomes but is still rewarding for the most part. The great evil didn’t really exist. The great Hero never really lived up to his role and the end it just ended with no spectacular flare or reasoning. I’m going to read others of the series because the world is interesting but would be great if it the threat or the Hero served a purpose.
