It feels like the Jason is just reacting to events. There is no plan. Everything is constantly going wrong for Jason. There are constant cringe worthy mistakes he makes, for example the gateway shard should never have gotten stolen, and Alexion should not have gotten free. I was expecting there to be a smart plan where they had made a fake gatepeice as a trap to lure Alexion’s group in, because there should be no way Jason would leave his most valuable item out on display. In the whole court case they just react. There is no strategy.
Sadly this book just leaves me feeling disappointed
