❔❔❔
Perhaps it is because Just Sacked is the 4th in the series and I haven’t read the previous 3 books, but I felt like I was a few steps behind throughout the entire book.
Layla and Hank have a drinking contest; the winner will be the owner of the foreclosed bar formerly owned by Layla’s family.
After a night of drinking, they awake in Mexico, literally handcuffed together. There were a lot of hair-raising, high drama situations that the 2 must face together. Something that irritates Layla especially – if they are ever able to make it back to the states alive. Despite their dire circumstances, Layla continually bickers with Hank over the bar.
If it weren’t for the last few chapters, which tied everything up, I would have felt that listening to this book was time wasted. However, knowing the who and why at the end of the book made me think back and kind of understand the entire thing.
*I received this book in exchange for my unbiased opinion. This is a well-written book with well-performed narration. The ending confirmed my feeling that the book was a bit juvenile for my taste.
