So I’ve made it a third the way thru so far. Been tempted to set this aside a few times but was hoping I’d get better. Don’t take me wrong.. I like this genre very much and this story has so much potential!!! However, I cannot get past one ridiculous annoying over-the-top self-absorbed childish hypocritical character that just sucks the life out of this novel. Barb demands not to be ignored or disrespected all the while ignoring and disrespecting everyone else. She is just awful… I enjoy strong confident female characters in the books I read. I, however, get turned off by the over-the-top nonsense. I mean a man constantly saying “I’m the man!” is just as bad as a woman constantly saying “hear me roar!” It’s ruining the story and that’s a shame
