How was this written after Old Man’s Journey? OMJ was amazing and wizard tower seems like it was written by a completely different person. It might be the narrator who is quite a terrible fit. The MCs dialogue is awful but the narrator makes it even worse. For some reason the MC thinks he knows something complicated but when he talks to his students it is completely mundane. The narrator says all this dumb stuff like it is something profound and it is grating on my mind. The MCs internal musings are even worse than the dialogue. He thinks he like a Sherlock Holmes. He makes crazy observations about people which I think the author thinks it makes the MC seem wise but is really childish. Why think about people at all. I’m only 45 and gave up wasting my time on people. At 200? I’d be a monster by then.
