The book made me look up the murder as well as his victims. I would like to express
my condolences to the victims and their families. Young and naive I probably would have acted like the victims. And, would have assumed that if my boyfriend was hanging out with someone, they too would be “normal”. There was a time in the late 70’s, when a man in a car flashed his lights and motioned for me to pull over. I did, and kept my window up. He motioned for me to roll my window down. I said “I can hear you! What is wrong? He kept motioning me to roll it down, then finally said, “you have a taillight out.” Let me show you.” I knew it was a lie, my car was brand new! I said, “thanks, I will let me dad know!”. He kept trying to talk, but I drove off. I was 18, naive and pretty. I thank God often for guiding me. The guy followed me until I made my turn home. For weeks I was frightened. I guess at 66, I still am!
