The voices are consistently done. The accent seems quite a bit more blue collar Roslindale than white collar Beacon Hill, but at least it’s consistently done. The Irish accent sounds good to me, but I wasn’t raised in Ireland.

The story is well done. Strong setting, strong characters, and humor sprinkled throughout. We like the cranky necromancer from the go, and he only grows on you. I laughed aloud when listening in the Post Office line, causing the man to my left to smile and the one to my right to chuckle. So, the book, and this reading of it, has done good in the world.

I will be reading the sequel, because I’m out of Audible credits and don’t want to wait. But this is good enough that if the sequel is good, I’m likely to spend my next credit on the sequel’s Audible book.
