While I enjoyed the movie the 2 to 3 times I’ve seen it, I wasn’t necessarily expecting much from this , because I’m not a diehard fan. Was pleasantly surprised. This is exhaustively researched, and there really isn’t a performer in front of or behind the camera involved in the making of the movie that doesn’t have some participation in this novel. The narrator is also excellent, because he is subtle enough to not make any incendiary comments or profanity seem overpowering, and he’s dry enough to let the senses of humor flow when they are used. Diehard fans of the movie– or fans of Pacino, Brando, JamesCaan, Duvall, etc. – will thoroughly enjoy this.
