Jeff Hays is amazing, but this book is awful. I kept thinking there would be some big reveal of what on earth the point of all this was. Negative. The author misuses and overuses several words and phrases. Overall this is like some guy’s bizarre, self important fantasy with the sex scenes removed. There’s a harem of slaves, a bunch of battle wins, infinite power and control over even the most mundane things… complete junk. IF there had Been intimate scenes, this would be a cheesy romance novel (so many of those have no point other than to be steamy!) but this falls flat in every way EXCEPT the performance. How this narrator read this so well, I will never know. Save your money or your credit for something else. Anything else.
