This was a fun story, well thought out, well planned and brilliantly executed. I want to say right up front that even though, as you would expect, there are many government entities portrayed in this book, there is absolutely NO political bias at all, there is no hidden agenda or deeper left/right message or leaning, an almost impossible task in todays world and Hunter has shown true genius in this accomplishment. This is not your typical “super-hero”, it also isn’t the typical “anti-hero” at all, this is something else, and wonderfully worked out. The main characters are just that, characters, unlikable, unlovable and unwashed, but you love them a little and like them alot. The chemistry between the main characters is so well written you forget they aren’t real people. The pace of the story is perfect, the action is well done and doesn’t lag or rush. There isn’t a plethora of characters and supporting roles to keep straight, easy to track and keep straight who’s talking. I’m very much looking forward to the next installment and to see where they go from here. It has all the quirky snarky quick witted banter you expect from Hunter Blain and characters that have been perfectly crafted.
