Would you listen to Delvers LLC again? Why?
I have listened to this novel twice already and love it because it is very well written and funny. The characters are so well written and fleshed out I actually hate one of the characters which sounds like I’m insulting the writer but it is very high compliment to the strength of writing out fully fleshed out characters in a fully fleshed out world.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters. You can have this be a heist novel, a murder mystery, a urban fantasy novel and it will still work with the same characters and humor just tweaked for the new setting.
Which scene was your favorite?
Dolos steals the show. He’s like Q from Star Trek the Next generation, he can only be used sparingly but when applied it to devastating effect.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed throughout. I’m not going to say I cried in the book’s final scene but it hit me VERY hard.
Any additional comments?
This gets better in later installments but the book really slows down when Henry and Jason level up. It was like looking up at a level up screen in an rpg and having each new ability and point allocation explained. It really brought the story to a halt for me and it happened a few times. If this bothers you as well keep in mind that the writer conveys the same information MUCH more better in later books.
