Ok so starting off with the good. The story is awesome. It is interesting and really reels you in and has you antsy on the edge of your seat. I love the chemistry between Rider and Cynthia. I liked both characters personalities a lot. Now for the bad. The narrator was trash. she has a nice voice for the female part… But only one female. Her voice only slightly (this is me pinching my thumb and finger together) changrd between characters. Almost nonexistent between same sex characters. Which made the book reeeally confusing until she said “so and so said”. This book came highly recommended from tik tok for its spicy level and I gotta say… meh. It has like 2 spicy scenes. Good scenes for sure, but only 2 for that my hours and chapters. Kind of a let down. But this may be a pro or a con depending on what you fancy. One thing I did dislike about the main female character is one that urks me anytime it’s done. And that’s when they introduce the main female character as the strongest of her kind, deadly to man and fae alike, buuuuuut she passes out all the time, and needs catered to everytime she uses her powers. I don’t have a problem with passive female leads. But either make her strong, or make her a damsel in distress. Can’t be both the whole story. Also, the story moves at an incredibly slow pace. We barely know any information on the case. And characters were brought in for what felt like just for the “omg” factor. Because not much is done with them afterwards. Idk, it’s not what I was hoping for spice wise, but it has a really great plot. So depending on the reviews, I’ll most likely continue the series. Because the story is really that good. Definitely recommend if you’re in it for the story.
