Wasn’t very interesting

Couldn’t finish.

Strong start. The opening was interesting, the start of a new romance seemed like it’d get interesting, the setting was interesting but it just couldn’t follow through for me. I very quickly lost interest when all the typical tropes started playing out.
It felt very same-same. I feel like the book was desperately trying to come off as dark but the writing style just could not pull it off.
I also feel like the story never started or it was just not interesting enough to keep me invested in what was going on.

After the first Erotic/romantic scene happened, this book was a wrap for me.

I recognized that the books strength was definitely not playing into a good enough romance to have to put up with a mediocre story. If that romantic hook just isn’t written well enough to keep me wanting to read more, i just refuse to force myself to keep going. I felt absolutely no chemistry between the characters and it just felt very generic.
