Not into LitRPG / gaming stories. it wasn’t obvious when I got it cheap while had a good premise. When I realized it was like a game , I thought “Goddammit Donut!” of some equivalent. What Carl says when the cat frustrates him. Turns out despite the gaming references in this one, it is incorporated into the story that I don’t despise it. Now I feel like the viewers who watch them trying to survive on TV. I got invested in Carl and Donut’s adventures. If one wanted to try and see if they liked this kind of genre, then I would recommend this one. And already did book 2 as well. I’m going to finish the series and hopefully it will keep me interested until the end. So far, 2 books and I like it. Still not my genre, nor do I want to delve into other stories, but this one has proved to be fun and entertaining. I’m giving it a 5 because the plot and story line flows well, kept my interest, and got me invested in the characters despite being a genre I don’t like. Definitely not for everyone.
