I wanted to love these nooks, but I wish there was more. Not more spice, that was fine, but more story, more plot, and more reason for the things that happened within it. I prefer my books to be able to stand on their own if all the spice scenes are removed and I’m these books would hold up to that scrutiny. There were plot points and characters that make no sense, trauma experiences that were “solved” in the most bizzare ways, and generally lots of “huh?” moments. The writing was descriptive, but, I just kept wanting it to be better. This was my first Willow Winters book and I’ll give her another chance because I want to love her writing, I hope this book isn’t an example of her other work.
