This story flows so well that it was very difficult for me to stop reading once I started! I think this is important to know if you’re like me and you get hyper focused easily – start this book at a time when you don’t have any other plans or responsibilities that you can’t complete at the same time as reading. Like sleeping, for example!

That being said, I looooooooved this story. Things I liked specifically:

– The chemistry between protagonist and love interest is delicious! *chef’s kiss*
– The smut-to-plot ratio is a hot balance of steamy interactions and story developments
– The 3rd person POV works really well and the personality of the protagonist shines through, especially with the help of Joel Leslie.
– Joel Leslie. Enough said? Seriously, he does a great job with the accents. Simeon sounds soooo sexy.
– No spoilers, but something cute happens near the end that made me really happy!
– Satisfying ending that left me excited for more story, but I was able to stop and go to bed without immediately diving into the next one.

Things I disliked:
– Angel’s inner dialog gets really repetitive at times, or at least it sounds that way to me. It might feel different reading vs. listening.
– Narrator does say “Simon” a couple of times instead of “Simeon,” which kind of took me out of the story for a minute or so. Not a huge deal, mistakes happen.

I would recommend to anyone looking for some mature M/M paranormal romance with substance, intriguing mystery, personal growth, strong men who aren’t afraid to be vulnerable (or become less afraid over time), snarky personalities, sexy Irish accents, accessible magic and world-building, and what I would call brain fluff – it was a lovely escape from the tedious work I was doing while listening.
