Wow this escalated quickly. Starts out as a light thriller and quickly becomes a dark disturbing nightmare. We get to ride with a complete homicidal maniac and the ride is not joyful. While the story is quite simple, it is very detailed. Every victim you become quickly acquainted with and I immediately was hoping for the best while realizing that was futile. Super happy this was a work of fiction, although I can totally see this as real life.

The four main characters are quite solid and you understand everything that they are doing and why. Don’t agree with one of them, but this really takes you for a ride inside the mind of madmen. In their own way, all of them are mad, just some more twisted than others. There is a lot of graphic violence so this is not for the faint of heart. Rule number one of no children and women is totally violated.

Like I said the plot itself is quite simple, but very smart. This is a well written and well calculating story that definitely ups the ante quickly. I love horror, and while this was horrific, this was edge of the seat thriller. I had to keep listening but really did not want to continue. That is huge kudos to the author.

David Stifel completely made this book. His voice was just as calculating as the author’s words. No way this book would have gotten under my skin without him. Second story I’ve heard from him and he did not disappoint. It takes a solid narrator to read a story like this.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
