I rarely write full reviews, however this little gem deserves one! I will say that if you are PC or easily offended, give this a pass, but if you like gory, bawdy adventures and have a rather twisted sense of humor like myself, buy this without hesitation!

The target audience for this book has got to be the same as anime like Overlord or Demon Lord Retry! because the premise is similar, though unique enough that it stands on its own among those worthy shows. I won’t give any spoilers, but the protagonist of the tale is very reminiscent to me of Ainz Ooal Gown, if he were a complete dunderhead and lacked even a shred of compassion, and not insanely overpowered to begin with. The execution of the author’s idea is flawless though, and the listener actually comes to enjoy our idiotic antihero’s antics, despite how despicable they would be considered if one were to apply human morality to something that is utterly inhuman.

As to the description’s warning about explicit sexual content, yes, it’s there, but it doesn’t exist for no reason, and the scenes are all rather brief when they do occur, and again, if that sort of thing bothers you, give this a pass. Gore, however, is plentiful, as is gratuitous violence, but what else would you expect from this sort of story?

Finally, the narration of the story is top notch! I love it when books are narrated by a full cast, and this is no exception. The company who did this has a lot of talent, and the fact that actual women voice the female characters really addressed one of my pet peeves about audiobooks in general. Audible, if you read these, I don’t know how many more books are in this series, but it would be a crime not to release them posthaste, because I can’t wait to hear more of this ridiculously hilarious story!
