It’s true that the narration detracts from the story. There is a lot to this book, and I think I will read it now that I’m done with listening. It’s very worthwhile, the book raises questions and possible solutions that we should all be discussing right now, not in the future. This author describes a difficult future without devolving the story into constant descriptions of weapons and violence. I really appreciate that! This is a story of our whole planet’s survival, not just surviving longer than your neighbors in a future dystopia. If you enjoyed the complexity of the Mars trilogy, you will like this book as well.
