I followed this case very closely when it happened when I lived in Utah. I remember seeing Josh Powell’s local interview with Chris Stewart and thinking, “That guy is not telling the truth.” It was such a sad case with such a tragic ending.

Hindsight is 20/20, but this book highlights a lot of the missteps it felt like the West Valley police department and the police and social services made in Washington.

While I knew many of the facts from the case, this book did contain a few revelations I did not know about. It’s a really compelling story and Josh’s father, Steve, was just a very sick individual.

Hearing about this case again filled me with much sadness, but it was a very interesting book.

I thought the readers of the book weren’t all that terrific and the decision to have two readers (one male, one female) didn’t really add anything to the book, especially since both weren’t that great as delivering the information in a compelling way.

Still, the book itself was good.
