Darkside of the Moon is the fourth book in this series about a pack of wolves in Little Rock, Arkansas. I listened to the first book in the series a year or so ago, then I discovered this fourth book. I had no trouble following the story, so I think this book could be enjoyed as a standalone. We see many of the previous couples back in this book, but the two main characters are the second in command guardian Zane and the independent and fiercely determined Skylar. Zane is struggling to control his wolf due to an injury from a previous book, and he luckily finds Skylar to care for and hide him as he tries to discover a solution to his problem. Skylar is an incredible young woman whose struggle to overcome her abusive childhood amazingly hasn’t turned her bitter or full of self-pity. Rather, she is kind and giving and wants only to take care of the people in her life. Zane is the typical ultra-alpha male wolf character, but some of his tough exterior melts away the more time he spends with Skylar. This book is the perfect blend of romance, action, the paranormal and pack drama, and I am planning to go back to listen to books two and three in this fun series as soon as possible.

Jeffrey Kafer is my all time favorite narrator, so I obviously found his performance in Darkside of the Moon fabulous. Everything that he narrates is enjoyable, but he especially shines in the paranormal romance genre. With his deep, raspy voice, he typifies alpha male, but he also handles the female characters with great skill. I highly recommend anything that he narrates, but this series in particular.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.
