Salem has always wanted only one thing and that is Arrow. But Arrow has always ever been focused on her sister. When she hears word of wedding bells she knows she cannot interfere with their happiness and attempts to remove herself from the situation. That’s how she ends up at St. Mary’s School For Troubled Girls.

She thinks she’s safe from his pull here but when he’s put on the injured players list for the rest of the MLS season he ends up at her school as her coach. But this Arrow is angry and bitter which is very unlike her sister’s Arrow. And for once he’s looking at her.

The unrequited love trope is so hard for me because it hurts man. It really hurts my soul. However this one was done so well. Sometimes it seems unbelievable that the other person finally sees them but the build up here was just right.

Salem is the kind of girl I’d want to be friends with. She’s loyal and trustworthy even when those around her might not deserve it. And yet she’s also not a doormat.

The narrators really embodied these characters perfectly. To be honest, as soon as I saw Jason Clarke was the narrator I knew I needed to listen to this one. Arrow’s chapters are significantly less but all are very strategic and impactful.

The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars was the talk during the steamy scenes was a little repetitive and awkward for lack of a better word. I had a hard time with the dialogue during those specific scenes but that was my only minor hiccup in this one. Otherwise it’s a great listen and I can’t wait to continue with the series.
