I’ve been around the block when it comes to isekai and dungeon stories so it was weird that I couldn’t maintain my attention on this one. I just chalk it up to the combat being in past tense just not working for me, it’s worked before in past tense just not this time. additionally I found most the characters dry except for Pierre, I loved him. on a dry day in the future I can imagine myself spending a credit on the next one but I’m certainly not going to seek it out. perhaps I’ll come back after listening to the mobile house one. the performance was great: good balance of sound effects and overall dynamic range of voice. but man anytime a tangent hit I struggled to maintain my attention. Great story, difficult writing.
