C.A. Rudolph has created a unique world in this series. Combined with the always stellar Kevin Pierce, the voice of PA fiction, the reader feels every ache and pain of the characters involved. The book revolves around Lauren, and her new world in the PA universe. It’s gritty, but not unnecessarily so. Lauren is angry, rightfully so. She lost her father, and she’s learning to survive without him. She’s great with a gun, but it’s not unbelievable. The only thing that can get moderately confusing is the jumps back and forth from the present to the past. Other than that, this is one ride to be enjoyed to the fullest. On to the next book.
