This book is the first in a series with a unique premise of alternate realities in different disaster scenarios. I thoroughly enjoyed this first book; the action and drama drew me in from the start. Although there are a number of characters, it is easy to follow along as Tom Abrahams does an excellent job describing them and allowing us to get to know who they are as people. They are easy to relate to and their concerns after the ash started falling are realistic and made me think about preparations and what I’d do in this scenario. I’m looking forward to seeing where Mr. Abrahams takes this series, what disaster will befall them next and how these characters will react in the alternate situations.
Kevin Pierce is a fantastic narrator. I can always count on him to tell the story in a way that will capture my attention. His voice is both soothing and emotion-filled as he portrays the events with realistic tone and dialogue. I highly recommend this book and narrator.
