Uninteresting main character with poor narrator.

I really wanted to like this one. It was on a list of recommended urban fantasy. I can’t finish it.

Main character makes infantile mistakes, the narrative drags, and the performance is very poor. She speaks in a monotone. Many other reviewers comment on the nasal tone of her voice, but they are incorrect. Their is no air whatsoever gong through her nose, so her voice is extremely hyponasal and difficult to listen to.
