This is the fourth book I’ve read/listened to by this author and the final of this series. It’s a very typical zombie apocalypse story in some ways- protagonists accomplishing more than would seem appropriate for the average person, lots of battles and conflict, typical zombies, little mention of mundane life.

It’s different in ways too- there are two groups that each have their good and bad guys. I like that I had a hard time siding with either group and I often wanted to scream “just talk to each other, you’ll learn neither of you want this”…well except the instigator on each side. It made me feel angry at most of the real world for all the unnecessary fighting.

This is an uncomplicated, entertaining, somewhat original listen. I’m glad I listened to it.

The book ends in a way that makes me wonder if there will be another book. This could be the end, or not.

This is the eleventh book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Andrew B Wehrlen). He is a wonderful audiobook narrator. His performances have drawn me into every book of his I’ve listened to. His male and female character voices are great and all individualized.

There are no explicit sex scenes, there is violence and swearing.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review.
