Ruthless People is funny , which is strange to say about a book that is full of mob violence. But the humor and banter between the two MC’s is hilarious.
THE BEST THING about this book is the narrator, Joel Froomkin! He is incredibly talented, performing perhaps 20 characters, both male and female, with Russian, Italian and Irish accents, and speaking briefly in all three languages. He really is amazing.
The mob action in this book is fun and pretty wild, but the love between the two MC’s just isn’t believable to me. They are ruthless, brutal killers, but then they go home and snuggle? It just doesn’t seem realistic. Maybe book two in the series will convince me.
II recommend this book, especially to those who like mafia-themed stories. It’s a good book and a good story, just a bit long.
