I purchased this after watching the Dateline docuseries. I was fascinated and needed more detail. This book does not disappoint – especially because the defense attorney contributed directly to the facts. The “facts” …remember those? Where was Joe Friday when they needed him? Facts are something the prosecution and law enforcement blatantly ignored to fit their trope of “the husband did it”. I would give this title 5’s across the board except I was frustrated by the narrator. He spoke in a rapid, conversational manner that works well with buddies talking over a beer, but listeners of audiobooks expect a bit more enunciation and care for words from their narrators – especially when having to absorb a story that has a lot of details. He had a good tone, though. Had I not watched the Dateline series, Every time he said “switch plate” (as in for the light switch), I heard “switch blade” (at least 50 times). It was only because on the series the evidence photo showed blood by the light switch that I was able to make sense of it. I temporarily slowed him down to 0.9x speed but that would have only made the book longer.
