Narration has a lot of room for improvement. Story has some interesting ideas with some amazing possible solutions outlined, giving the story a hopeful edge. That said, the story seems to completely ignore the cultural push back that would come with many of the life changing solutions. If you thin the US wouldn’t erupt into a civil war with even the mention of small towns and remote ranches being shuttered, then you don’t have a full appreciation for American culture. I agree that there would need to be a sort of Eco terrorism in order to win a change in society, but I am sure that the resulting wars will have far reaching changes, much more then just some ships and airplanes getting blown up and then the world responds with, “oh, I guess we need to abandon airplanes and make blimps”.
