The narration is great, and the mechanics of the writing are still good, but the story is changing from a unique premise into a stereotypical kids Japanese cartoon. Complete with dumb attack names that must be yelled out during the fight, Pokémon style pets, and “dueling” as a national pastime. (“Hey son, i haven’t seen you in months and i know you are only 10 years old, but let’s go out back and try to beat each other up!”)
I might try the next in the series, but if things don’t go back to being a decent story instead of kid’s tv i will probably bail.
