This book is one of the rare books that I have read or listened to that is bully/bully lite that I consider to be reflective of how immature high school students act. I mean that in the best of ways. So many bully romances portray teens talking and behaving like adults and having power that no teen would ever possess. I was beginning to feel that I went to high school in a different universe. Clearly times could not have changed so much as to have children not only ruling schools but entire towns and cities. Along comes the Court High series to remind me that yes teens are really immature, they don’t speak or think like adults and they certainly don’t behave as such. Neither do they have the power to rule over hundreds and thousands of people – at least not in the West.

The heroine of this story December is really a teen lost without her big sister trying to figure out who to trust – who is friend who is foe and what happened to her big sister, Royal Prinze has “betrayed” her in the worst way and he was in part the key to her finding out what happened to her sister. There is still much intrigue and suspense and drama to be had in this installment plus the added grief to deal with it.

The narration is still quite good and believable for young voices.

Can’t wait for book 3!
