This is never going to be an easy subject to deal with – whether you have an alcoholic in your own family, it’s a friend or it’s you… the stress of trying to help or change, knowing what approaches to take, what to avoid … it’s really tough.
This book takes a no nonsense approach to breaking things down in a way that is refreshingly easy to digest.
I would recommend people read this even if you don’t think you have an alcoholic in your circle of friends and family – you may realize after reading it, that in fact someone in your circle is struggling with this affliction.
My only issue with the audiobook is that the narration doesn’t quite do justice to the content – it’s clearly spoken, but the sentences of broken with pauses which are probably due to a teleprompter, and don’t match the actual sentence structure. This is not a make or break issue – still listen – it will be worthwhile!
