I feel personally victimised by this book in the best possible way. It mirrors my own life and experiences as a queer fantasy nerd with a biochem background (often to an alarming degree). I’m not convinced I didn’t write this book in a fugue state.
Its well-written, fun, and has interesting world building with a magic system based on insight. One can tell it’s written with a great deal of love for and understanding of the scientific method and fantasy, weaving magic through scientific and mathematic truth.
Alexander Olson, you’ve secured a new biggest fan. I look forward to the planned sequel and many more after that.
