Lily Morton…how do you create the most beautiful, funny, and truly swoon-worthy love story every single time? I loved this wonderfully heartbreaking age-gap romance and was so sad to see Wren and Mateo’s story end! Wren is the kind of character you just wish was a real person because he would be the sweetest and dearest friend. I love how big his heart is and how much he loves the world around him, even when it hasn’t treated him very well. Mateo was something of a surprise as you get to know his character. Though he comes across as stern and unfeeling, I think he is truly one of those people that feels very deeply but doesn’t know how to process that emotion. I loved seeing Wren and Teo build a beautiful relationship over their short time together despite neither having had a serious partner before. While some of Mateo’s family is truly horrible, I loved his grandfather and was so happy to see Wren and he shared a love of books! I want Alfie and Enzo’s story so badly! I hope we get to see those two find their way to each other and learn more about how their relationship started. Both characters seemed so interesting in the little bit we got to know of them and I would love to see their story in a future book. Pick up any Lily Morton book out there and get to reading; you will not be disappointed! Joel Leslie’s narration paired with Lily Morton’s words will ALWAYS be a must listen for me! Joel is easily my favorite narrator and can bring new life to any book he narrates without distracting from the actual story. One of my favorite listens so far this year!
