Cameron Chase is a Rixon Raider, he is the star wide receiver and him and Jason Ford (the star quarterback) have their whole lives planned out. They have had a plan for as long as they can remember and they are seniors now so the plan is so close to coming to fruition.

Hailey Raine is an artist and she is not a fan of the Raiders. She hates football and all it stands for. Especially her step-brother Jason and his friends who have been tormenting her for years. She thought Cameron was different but he has since proven her wrong.

The games and pranks and trouble between the two sides has escalated and has become dangerous. Who is on whose side now? Where is the line drawn? How far is too far?

I loved Hailey so hard. She was strong and resilient. She didn’t take people’s crap and didn’t let things bother her. She’s hardened. Flick (her best friend) tries to help but Hailey is strong and doesn’t need it. Or does she?

Cameron, Jason, and Asher rule the school. They are at the top of the food chain and their word is law. What they say goes and when they blacklist Hailey that inadvertently includes Flick. These three have another rivalry they are fighting along with the one with Hailey and it is getting worse by the day.

These two are cruel to each other, but not in the way you would expect. There is always things that go on behind closed doors that the rest of the world doesn’t see, things going on with them together and separately that others are unaware of. It’s messy and it’s heartbreaking, but it’s beautiful.

Sarah Puckett and Wen Ross did a great job with this book! I loved the different voices for Felicity and Hailey along with Cameron, Jason, and Asher. It made it very easy to differentiate who was talking. They gave this book life.
