This book involves a game thereby explaining the existance and use of magic. This is good in that many books can fall into becoming fantasy by not addressing the “magic” behind magic. however this book focuses too much on 2 players and is not a realistic encounter for an mmorpg. I guess what i am saying that irratates me about this book is that the book tries to be scifi by staying in the real world but then it all falls apart due to the basic narative where two people that hate each other happen to be the best players in the game and the time compression is dumb these people are not cyborgs and the human nervous system only operates so quickly ~0.1 second reaction speed and you cannot speed that up in the real world without a cyborg brain. Aside from the main story arc this is a good LitRPG novel.
