A man witnesses a cryptozoological myth. So of course, he decides he has to capture it. If we were watching this as a horror movie, we would be yelling at the screen for the fool to not go down that long dark hallway. The imp in the story is definitely a monster, but there are times when you will dislike the protagonist more. He has no empathy and he has no problem with torture either. In the past, I have enjoyed some stories where the protagonist was an unlikable character, but for this one, I’m kind of on the fence. I did enjoy the monster’s backstory as well as the twist in the overall story. Also, narrator Gary Bennett does a good job with the material. With all that being said, I have to recommend “Imp.” I just don’t enthusiastically recommend it.
