I have listened to a LOT of the various merman/maid romances and this one just is strange. the world is OVER saturated with shifters for starters. humans, shifters and merfolk interact all the time (World building desperately needed) and I feel that taking the mystery of the mer away from the story ruins what makes a mer-romance work.
