While the content of the story made want to finish this book, the narrator is just not up to the task. His vocal range and the way he expresses emotion just do not sound good to me. As for the writing…I propose no one makes a drinking game by taking a shot every time someone says lists, has listed or is listing as well as every time someone does something again, and again and again. I think word count would be reduced a bunch by stopping that.
I really enjoyed the first book of this series. However, each subsequent main story has been more tedious to finish than the last. I only listened to one of the side quests for Riley and that was enough for me. I think I am done with Jason’s saga. The eventual power creep within 2 months of this “games” release is similar to power creep in shows like Dragon Ball and Naruto and as such may be more appealing to this audience than myself.
